The State Government of Rajasthan has launched a new scheme "Kusum Yojana" to provide benefits to the farmers of the state. Rajasthan Kusum Yojana's key aim is to provide farmers with Solar-powered solar pumps for irrigation. As a part of this scheme, the state government will transform 3 crore pumps of petrol and diesel irrigation pumps in to Solar energy Pumps. As a result of this transformation, the pumps will now be powered by Solar Energy, this will help farmers a lot as it reduces the cost of gasoline or petrol.

Kusum Yojana 2021:-

This Project i.e Kusum Yojana has laid down a goal of 17.5 Lakh diesel Pumps and 3 Crore Farming Pumps to be converted in to Solar Energy Pump in the following 10 years. This Scheme proves to be a boon for farmers of Rajasthan State. The Government has sanctioned a fixed budget of Rs 50 Thousand Crore to run this Scheme smoothly. The Proposal would help to install Solar Pumps for 20 Lakh Farmers in the 2020-2021 budget.

As a part of this scheme, number of Solar Energy Plants were distributed to the farmers of the State. Rajasthan is the first one to complete the farmer's selection procedure. Kusum Yojana of Rajasthan Government provides many benefits to farmers. Under this scheme, the State Farmer's can irrigate their land on a regular basis with the help of Solar Pump System. This will increase their revenues and also they get rid out of the problem of electricity. As a part of this scheme, 30% of the the cost barred by Central Government, 30% by State Government , 30% by NABARD, this farmers have to pay just 10% of amount to install the Solar Energy Pump.

Under this scheme, the State Government will install the Solar Pumps of 3 to 7.5 Horse Power. A fixed budget has been sanctioned for different horse powers which farmers have to deposit i.e Rs 20 thousand 549 for 3 HP, Rs 33 thousand 749 for 5 HP and Rs 46 thousand 687 for 7.5 HP. 

Kusum Yojana Components:-

  • Distribution of Solar Pump:-  In the first step, the Government will Supply the Solar Pump.
  • In the second phase, Solar Power Plants that are capable of generating adequate amount of electricity will be installed.
  • In the third phase, the Government will Install Tube-wells to generate some more electricity.
  • In the Final Phase, there will be a upgrade of existing pumps. New Solar Pumps will replace thee the outdated one.

Benefits of Kusum Yojana 2021:-

  • As a part of this scheme, all the farmers can avail the benefits.
  • Provision of Subsidised Solar Irrigation Pumps.
  • The main benefit of this scheme is that it reduce the cost or usage of diesel/gasoline.
  • Now Solar Energy Pumps that irrigate the fields can improve the agriculture.
  • This Scheme helps in increase the Farmer's Income.
  • 60% of the Pump Installation cost will be barred by Government (State and Central), 30% by the NABARD, thus, Farmers have to just pay 10% of the total cost.
  • The Construction of Solar Power Plant would produce 24 hours of electricity. This makes it easier for farmers to irrigate their land.
  • The Farmers can sell the extra Power generated from the Solar Panel to Government/Non-Government agencies, from where they can earn Rs 6000 per month.

  • On the homepage of the website there is a  option of "Online Registration". You can visit directly on that page by copy below link and paste on your browser.
  • As soon as you click on "Online Registration" option, a application form will open on your screen.

  • Enter all the details asked.
  • Click on the Submit Button.
  • You will be directed to payment page where you have to pay 10% of the total cost.
  • Once done, in a couple of days, solar pumps will be installed in your field.
